Cherokee High School is located on the Qualla Boundary in The Great Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina. It is near the borders of both the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Although Cherokee High School is a state accredited school, it also follows the guidelines as set forth by the Office of Indian Education. The community, the staff, and the students of Cherokee High School believe in preserving the Cherokee Culture while in the pursuit of excellence in education. Cherokee Central School follows the mandates of the No Child Left Behind Act, and constantly strives to ensure that students graduating from the school are able to function as responsible citizens and leaders of the Cherokee community as well as the world community are are encouraged to pursue a higher education. |
